PEPTIDES

Peptides are a type of injectable pharmaceutical medication.  They are defined as a sequence of amino acids less than 40 amino acids long.  Peptides and proteins serve as the body's natural signaling molecules similar to hormones.

By mimicking the peptides found in the body or by replacing them, similar to hormone replacement therapy, peptide therapy affects disease and promotes healthy lives in patients qualified for treatment.

While our bodies do naturally produce peptides, the production of peptides in individuals can vary greatly and we generally see a decline in our body’s production of peptides as we age. This is where peptide therapy comes in to play. Peptide therapy is the use of peptides in treatment to direct cells to perform the function specific to the peptide being used. Since our bodies naturally produce many kinds of peptides, there are many different types of peptide therapies, all of which are used to trigger a specific function within the body.
